Regulatory Compliance

Connecta processes student data in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679. Our Data Protection Officer oversees all processing activities. See our Privacy Policy for details on data rights and processing.
Curriculum Alignment
Connecta does not certify its content against any single official curriculum. Socrat (our AI coach) supports learning objectives that teachers map to recognised frameworks — including the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and Bulgaria's national educational standards (Държавни образователни стандарти, issued by the Ministry of Education and Science). Content is curriculum-aligned at the teacher's discretion. Socrat guides student thinking toward these objectives and is not trained on individual student conversations or commercial AI datasets.
Child Safety Regulations
Connecta operates under EU child protection directives. GoodTalk (BGGPT-powered moderation) is designed to detect and prevent harm to minors before content is transmitted. All safety incidents are logged and escalated per safeguarding protocols.
School Data Processing
Schools acting as Data Controllers for student rosters can appoint Connecta as a Data Processor. We sign Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with all schools and maintain safeguards for roster data.
Liability & Disclaimers
Connecta Education provides the platform "as is" for educational support. While we take safety seriously via GoodTalk, we cannot guarantee 100% harm prevention. Parents and schools remain responsible for student wellbeing.
For serious incidents (exploitation, self-harm threats, etc.), users should contact:

Intellectual Property
Connecta® is a registered trademark. The Connecta logo, branding, and platform design are proprietary. Users may not reproduce, adapt, or distribute Connecta's brand assets without written permission.
Student-created content (writing, artwork, questions) remains the property of the student. Connecta holds a limited license to display it within the platform and analyze it for safety.
Third-Party Services
Socrat AI
Powered by curriculum-aligned AI trained on educational frameworks, not commercial models. Socrat does not train on individual student conversations.
GoodTalk Safety
Uses BGGPT (Bulgarian GPT variant) for content moderation in Bulgarian and English contexts. Analysis happens in real-time, in-EU servers only.
Cloudflare Infrastructure
Connecta is hosted on Cloudflare Pages/Workers (EU regions). All data transfers are encrypted; no data leaves EU jurisdiction except for DPA-compliant sub-processors.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of unauthorized access to student data:
- We assess risk within 24 hours
- Notify affected users, parents, and schools within 72 hours (Article 33 GDPR)
- Report to relevant Data Protection Authority if risk is high
- Provide full incident report upon request

Dispute Resolution
Disputes are governed by the Terms of Service and resolved through good-faith negotiation, mediation, or EU arbitration. For consumer complaints, you may also escalate to your national data protection authority.
Modifications to This Notice
Connecta may update this legal notice to reflect regulatory changes or service updates. Material changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.
